Home/Work/Roshan Kotla

A small channel.
Three hits in a row.

Roshan’s channel had a median of around 100 views per video. We helped turn his experience in software and hiring into a viral IT-industry essay—and followed it with two more hits.

Roshan Kotla

From roughly 100 views to a viral breakout.

Before the breakout, Roshan’s videos had a median of around 100 views, as recorded in Rishwajeet’s July 2026 account. He had experience running a software business and hiring people, but his essays had struggled to reach an audience.

We worked with him on the research, thesis, outline, script and packaging for “The Indian IT Dream is Dead.” Roshan brought the experience, stories and on-camera delivery. Published on 16 April 2026, it became the channel’s viral breakthrough, reaching 791,165 views by 7 September.

975,358 combined views as of 7 September 2026. These are cumulative public views for the three named releases, at different ages. The next two essays each passed 90,000 views. A small channel had landed a breakout and sustained its reach across two more releases.

How we built on the first hit.

After the video broke out, we read all 443 comments. Under the discussion of IT was a wider concern: people had studied, paid for a degree and followed the accepted route, and the promised job no longer felt certain.

That gave the next essay a starting point: graduates who could not find work. The third approached the same concern through the middle-class career promise. Each subject met a feeling the audience already had with something Roshan knew first-hand.

The work behind all three.

Machine House developed the research, argument, outline, script and packaging. Roshan’s examples and feedback shaped the drafts; he recorded the essays. After each release, we read the response before choosing the next subject.

The account from inside the work.

Rishwajeet wrote about the decision while the third video was still growing. Read “One video did 7.7 lakh views. Then we did it twice more.” The essay preserves its July numbers; this case updates the view counts to September.
